Austin, Texas – July 20, 2007 - Tagnetics Inc., provider of innovative Electronic Shelf Label (ESL) Systems, announced today the successful installation of their largest ESL system to date. Located in an upscale, 80,000 square foot grocery retail outlet, the system includes over 18,000 electronic LCD price labels which replace the paper labels located on the edge of each retail shelf. The installation demonstrates the inherent scalability and flexibility of Tagnetics’ next generation ESL solution.
Tagnetics’ ESL product dramatically reduces store labor costs associated with price changes. In addition, an expanded feature set increases the overall value to the retailer by improving merchandising capability and maximizing revenue. Tagnetics capability to provide customized solutions at a low cost allows retailers to experience a more efficient merchandising process while maintaining shelf set integrity and increasing productivity.
“The beauty of our new architecture is that system performance scales with system size”, said Ken Kiplinger, the company’s Vice President of Engineering. “System performance and responsiveness will be just as good in a fifty thousand tag system as it is in a five thousand tag system.” Tagnetics’ system scalability is accomplished through a modular architecture, which adds additional concurrent communication channels as the system is expanded.
“Retail outlets are certainly not all the same size”, said company’s President, Ron Earley. “Tagnetics is excited to provide a scalable, flexible and low-cost electronic shelf label solution that retailers large and small can afford and benefit from.” Tagnetics’ ever-expanding customer base includes systems that range in size from convenience stores to full size grocery stores.
