Houston, Texas – May 28, 2007 – Tagnetics Inc., provider of innovative Electronic Shelf Label Systems, announced today the successful implementation of its new streamlined process for Electronic Shelf Label (ESL) system installation. The first use of the new process concluded today with the successful installation of a complete system, including 14,000 ESL’s, at a Houston, TX area grocery store. The new method, employing a combination of hardware and software innovations, significantly reduces the time required to complete a full turnkey system installation.
Tagnetics’ ESL product, which replaces paper shelf pricing labels, dramatically reduces store labor costs associated with price changes. In addition, an expanded feature set increases the overall value to the retailer by improving merchandising capability and maximizing revenue. The streamlined installation process allows Tagnetics to deliver these benefits quickly and with minimal disruption of store operations.
“Early on Tagnetics recognized that the key to a successful ESL product is as much about the installation and training as it is about the technology”, said Andrew Wildman, Installation Project Manager. “We have to be sure that the customer is totally comfortable with the new technology before our team leaves the store.”
Perhaps the most significant piece of Tagnetics’ new streamlined installation process is the enhancement made to the system software. “Installation is a very unique process and is quite different than normal day to day operations”, said Stan Swartzel, Director of Software Development. “Every second of every task has to be taken into consideration. In fact, our software team participated in recent store installations so they could better understand the process and what is required.”
