ESL System Features Print E-mail

ESL Maintenance
Management of electronic shelf labels is handled using a RF hand held scanner / terminal. Shelf labels are quickly and easily installed by scanning the barcode on the electronic label and then the barcode on the product. This process creates a link between the ESL and product to reflect current price and all future updates. An ESL's product link can be deleted by simply scanning the barcode located on the side of the electronic tag. Store personnel can easily move labels from one location to another simply by removing the label with a special tool and inserting it in a new location.

Merchandise Manager
Most retail stores utilize merchandising signage to attract customers to promotional items. The task of locating and installing the merchandising signs can be quite time consuming. Tagnetics' Merchandise Manager feature utilizes the ESL's flashing attractor to guide store personnel to the appropriate location to hang promotional signs. This feature may also be used to find other products in the store such as those designated as discontinued items.

Stock-to-Light
In high-density areas of a retail store, shelf restocking can be very time consuming. Normally the stocking clerk must open a case and then find the stocking location. Tagnetics' stock-to-light feature utilizes the ESL's flashing attractor to guide the clerk to the proper stocking location. A simple scan of the product (or case) barcode triggers the corresponding ESL's light to begin flashing. At the same time, the ESL's display flashes "HERE" and also indicates the proper number of facings for the selected product.

Report Generation
Customized reports are automatically generated by the system based on a predefined schedule. Alternatively, reports can be generated on demand from the TSC console. Reports are automatically printed or emailed to the desired store personnel.

Special Displays
Tagnetics' electronic shelf labels can display useful real-time information. This information is accessed by either pressing a hidden button on the ESL or by activating the special display in a selected portion of the store from a handheld device. Some examples of this type of display include UPC, item movement from POS or set and planogram information.

ESL Tracking and Management
Unlike RF based systems, Tagnetics' inductive coupling technology allows ESL movement to be monitored and tracked. When ESLs are removed from the rail, they are placed on a missing tag list and the removal is logged. Once the ESL is reinstalled, it is removed from the missing tag list and its recovery is logged. Further, if the ESL was moved to a new location, the move is logged. If desired, a report of all tag movement activity can be generated periodically. Also, the missing tag list can be managed at the Store Controller console. This allows authorized users to remove ESL from the list which have been permanently removed from the shelf.

Out-of-Stock Tracking
Rather than removing shelf labels when products are out-of-stock, labels can be placed in the out of stock condition. This causes the ESL to display a message indicating that the product is out of stock. Once the product is restocked, the price display can be easily restored. Also, the out-of-stock and in-stock data can be used to generate reports. Tagnetics ESL system has the capability to integrate with an automatic stock sensing device to completely automate this process.

ESL Overlay Printing
Tagnetics supports a wide array of portable and stationary printing solutions. Label formatting is customized using a graphical design tool. Tagnetics' Store Controller monitors important data fields that are printed on each overlay label and triggers a reprint when needed. These overlays can be printed manually or automatically when a reprint is required.

Paper Label Printing and Maintenance
Tagnetics' ESL system is capable of printing and maintaining paper labels in areas of the store that are not practical or conducive to electronic labels.
